Midland University Walker School of Education

Program Overview

At Midland University we develop innovative, collaborative, and reflective leaders.  Our students have access to talented and accessible faculty at the foremost of their fields, who work with students beyond the classroom as educators, mentors, and advisers. Our bold curriculum breaks through traditional learning barriers with innovative, real-world experiences that start day one. In conjunction with faculty, our students can plan a program of study to highlight their strengths and develop creative leadership for collaborative impact beyond the classroom.

Midland University offers a Master of Education, as well as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement for proven educators that hold a valid teaching certificate.

Our Principal Endorsement track is for educators who seek to work in administrative leadership positions, such as Principal, Assistant Principal, Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent.

Our National Board Certified Teacher preparation track is for educators who seek to make a greater impact within their classrooms, school districts and communities.

Midland M.Ed. students may elect to complete both tracks, collectively earning their NBCT & Principal Endorsement in only three years.

Our English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement is a graduate level program which offers proven educators the opportunity to teach in the grade levels they are prepared, providing they hold a valid teaching certificate.

Why a Midland M.Ed.?

Hybrid Structure

Our Hybrid Model enables students to cultivate relationships with peers and faculty members through traditional in-person meetings, while combining the flexibility of online learning, to help build professional networks that start day one.

Midland M.Ed. students meet in-person on the first and sixth Saturday of each eight-week course. Cohorts begin each summer in June.
