Flexible Class Model

Midland University students can start in the spring, summer or fall terms each year, and can take one or two courses per 8-week term to graduate in the timeline that best fits their schedule.  National Board Certificatioin candidates must complete the preparation courses through the hybrid class structure, however all other endorsements can be completed fully online and from afar.

To make planning easier, the hybrid's monthly face-to-face sessions are outlined below.

Online Schedule

The ESL, HAL, and Educational Principal endorsement programs are 100% online.

To meet the needs of students across the state and region, our all online programs allow students to jump in from anywhere, yet still be part of the connected and personal Midland community. The online network encourages collaboration with peers from urban and rural districts in order to learn first-hand new approaches in education through a robust knowledge sharing network.

All online courses are asynchronous in delivery, meaning students don’t have to log in at any specific time, but rather keep up with homework on their own schedule. Modules run on a schedule Monday through Sunday, with the bulk of assignments due on Sunday to allow for a teacher's demanding schedule.

Hybrid Schedule

The National Board Certification Preparation program has a hybrid program structure.

The hybrid structure has been proven to be very effective, and offer students the best of both worlds - in class time with your peers and the flexibility of online coursework. All hybrid courses consist of eight-week terms, with two face-to-face weekends (the first and sixth Saturday) and six distance weekends. The required in-person meetings give all students the chance to meet professors and work directly with classmates, while the online work can be completed throughout the week when students' schedules allow.

Please note: National Board Certification Preparation classes are only hybrid courses, and cannot be taken in our online format.

The in-person class meetings take place at the Midland University Omaha location just south of 114th & Dodge Street.
